| The chill of the October wind
seemed to howl louder than usual across the English Channel that day
in 1805. The man is Lord Nelson.
The barrel of the HMS Victory is made of prehistoric mammoth ivory, legally excavated in Northern soils. This ivory is at least 10,000 years old and adds a genuine historical essence to our pen. The barrel is designed using the old naval art of scrimshaw , a process of engraving a surface and pressing pigment into the design to create a beautifully detailed piece of art. The scrimshaw on our barrel depicts the glory of the HMS Victory at sea amidst the crashing waves of the English Channel. It not only shows the breathtaking structure and detail of the ship, but also takes you into the battle scene and lets you imagine for a moment, the intense emotion of Lord Nelson and his crew, and the glorious triumph of his victories. In addition, every pen is accented with a genuine piece of wood preserved from the actual HMS Victory that fought the battle of Trafalgar. This amazing historical artifact is set in a sterling silver bezel on the band of every pen¹s cap. The surrounding casing and cap are constructed of beautifully swirled resin, colored like the turbulent waves of the ocean. Keep history alive and cherish the HMS Victory. Feel the anticipation of conflict, the intensity of battle, the glory and triumph of success, and the honorable, heart breaking death of Lord Nelson who, surrounded by his loyal crew after defeating Napoleon, whispered his final words..... "Thank God, I have done my duty." |
